God Whispers

There was pus coming out of her face. Her big, beautiful, brown eyes were locked on me, but I couldn’t tear my gaze away from the hole in her cheek. What in the world had happened?

“Pray over her,” God whispered to me. I’m sorry, what? You want me to pray for her? I’m not equipped… I’m not good enough. What will all these other people think?

Then, a word from the group leader. “Everyone grab a patient and pray with them.” I was sent to someone else.

After everyone had prayed, we finished our tour of the hospital, and then got back into the car. I couldn’t get her off of my mind. She had received prayer, but it wasn’t from me. I didn’t respond to God’s call when I heard it. I knew He was speaking to me, but I didn’t act because I was paralyzed by fear.

God will carry out His plans without you. He doesn’t need you to accomplish His work. BUT He invites you to be a part of it and delight in the blessings that will inevitably come. The rewards from doing God’s work are rich.

God is whispering to you. How will you respond?
